An Efficient High Power Piezo Amplifier Piezo specialist Physik Instrumente have introduced the Model E-480 a four quadrant amplifier producing 2000 watts of dynamic power in an output voltage range of 1000V. With source/sink currents up to 2000mA and a bandwidth of 5kHz, the E-480 can achieve very high slew rates even with highly capacitive piezo loads. The differential design of the amplifier allows two piezos to be driven in a push/pull mode, important in positioning applications where a maximum force and stroke are required.
